Private Treatments

There are some items of care which are not available within the NHS, mainly cosmetic treatments, that your dentist will be happy to discuss with you.

We also offer private registration for patients who prefer to pay as they go for treatments on a private basis. This is designed to accommodate patients at times that we will not be able to take on new NHS patients at the practice as we will have reached our capacity for the existing funding provided to us by the local Primary Care Trust.
All the practitioners are happy to offer a full range of cosmetic and specialist dental services including:

Complex crown and bridge work

Veneers

Cosmetic white fillings

Tooth Whitening

Implants

NHS Treatments

The practice offers a full range of NHS treatments dependant upon the patient’s needs and commitment to maintaining oral health. Patients can request services, and express a preference of dentist via the reception.

The NHS prices changed in April 2006 with treatment falling into three bands. We have given an example of the new NHS fee structure under our price list page. Some treatments are not available under the NHS but your dentist will give you a fully itemised treatment plan, listing all the options available to you. Fees are due once your dental care starts.

You may qualify for full or partial exemption from charges.

NHS treatments include Check ups, Scaling, X-rays, Periodontal Treatment, Fillings, Dentures, Crowns, Bridges and biteguards to stop tooth grinding.

Some crowns/bridges/dentures/fillings such as composite bonding are not covered under the NHS. Please ask your dentist what the best option for you is.
You can get free dental treatment (including check-ups) if you:

are under 18

are under 19 and in full time education

are pregnant or have given birth in the last 12 months

are getting Income Support or income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

Also, some people on a low income, including some people getting tax credits, income-related Employment and Support Allowance or the guarantee credit part of Pension Credit can get free NHS dental treatment or treatment at a reduced cost.
