All staff participate in continual professional development and attend nationally recognised post-qualification courses. High standard of care is a priority in the dental profession, and this is communicated to the next generation of dentists through the Dental Foundation Training Scheme.
A select number of practices throughout the country train Foundation Dentists (FDs). At Staveley Dental Care we have been training FDs since 2012, equipping them with the skills to undertake holistic treatment for patients in the context of a thriving NHS dental practice.
Dr Sotirios Giannetopoulos

Sotirios is a partner at Staveley Dental Care in Chesterfield which started as a new practice in May 2010. Sotirios studied at Athens University and graduated in 2004. He has a personal interest in Restorative/Adhesive Dentistry, Minor Oral Surgery and Implantology, having completed his Masters in restorative dentistry at Sheffield University in 2008 and a yearlong certificate course in Implantology at Manchester Trafford Hospital in 2010.
Sotirios strives for excellence and has a reputation for delivering clinical and patient care to the very highest standard. This is communicated to the next generation of dentists through the Dental Foundation Training Scheme and Sotirios has been a Foundation Trainer for the South Yorkshire and East Midlands Deaneries since 2009 having mentored several young graduates so far.
Dr Vasileios Orliaklis

Mr. Orliaklis has 27 years of clinical experience since his qualification in 1995. After working for 2 years as a dentist in the Greek Army, he completed his MMedSci in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Sheffield in 1998 with particular emphasis on Gerodontology and the treatment of the Elderly.
From 1999 till 2002 he worked as an associate dentist at Rose Cottage Dental Surgery for the NHS. In 2002, he bought his practice in Sheffield. He has been working at Darnall a highly deprived area of Sheffield, since then and he has moved/set up Darnall Dental Clinic which expanded form a single-handed practice to an 8-surgery clinic over the last 15 years. He is a member of the ROCS (Residential Oral Care Sheffield) group, an innovative project organized by NHS Sheffield, aiming to provide treatment and care for the elderly patients in all of Sheffield’s nursing homes, providing domiciliary services.
In 2010, together with Mr. Giannetopoulos, they set up Staveley Dental Care, and NHS practice in Staveley, which started as a 2-surgery practice, and over the last few years has expanded to a 4-surgery clinic.
He has been a DFT trainer since 2009 continually until now. As a requirement of DFT training he completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education with distinction in 2013.
In February 2022 he started his course in Paediatric Dentistry at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital Sheffield, a 2-year clinical course which will lead to accreditation to become a Level 2 practitioner in Paediatric Dentistry.
Dr Rhys Williams

Rhys studied dentistry at Sheffield University and graduated in 2017. He has worked as an associate dentist at Staveley Dental Care since finishing his own foundation year in 2018. He enjoys endodontics and is always keen to share his knowledge and experiences in order to provide support as one of the Educational Supervisors to our foundation dentists.
Dr Emma Cantrill

Emma studied dentistry at Manchester University and graduated in 2018. She has worked as an associate dentist at Staveley Dental Care since finishing her foundation year in 2018. Emma provides a variety of treatments at the practice and is involved in a clinical trial to contribute research for future improvements in the field of dentistry.
Dr Ryan Pickering

Ryan is an associate dentist at Staveley Dental Care. He studied dentistry at Sheffield University and graduated in 2022. After completing his year as a foundation dentist with us in 2023 he has stayed on at the practice to continue patient care.
Dr Suzanne Nolan

Suzanne is an oral surgeon on the GDC specialist list in oral surgery. She has worked in oral surgery since 2017, developing clinical expertise in this area. She is known for putting patients at ease and for efficient procedures done to a consistently high standard.
Suzanne is employed by Sheffield Dental Hospital where she carries out all aspects of oral surgery alongside teaching both under and post graduates. She has recently completed a postgraduate certificate in Medical Education.
Suzanne has a special interest in dental sedation and has provided treatment under sedation throughout her career specialising in the treatment of anxious patients.
She is also a regional representative for the British Association of Oral Surgeons and member of the Royal College of Surgeons. Suzanne has been working at Staveley Dental Care since 2017, treating patients that are referred to us through our iMOS service.
